A friend brought to my attention that I have not updated this in a while. Well I haven't had time to write!
In fact, because my finals are next Tuesday and Wednesday, I STILL don't have time to write!
Things that have happened recently: - 2 test shoots, with 2 relatively big-time photographers. Except the 2nd one, which happened yesterday, turned out to be a 15 model production to be submitted to a plethora or crazy magazines. For one look, I had eyepatch. For another, I had 3foot high hair (they had to add 2 bags of fake hair to my hair). For yet another, I had a ponytail on the top of my head. All while wearing really high end suits. Nooo idea what they were going for, but I trust that the pictures will be amazing. - Assistant coaching at NYU. Coaching the throws, of course. The guys and girls team recently merged, so that means more help is needed. My coach is offering me an official position for next year. Nothing is permanent yet, but I am definitely leaning towards taking it. I won't be able to coach as an attorney - Last day of classes. My last class was Wednesday until 8:30. That was a great experience. - Finals. As aforementioned, finals next Tues and Weds. Not so great. Nuff said. - Upcoming position as a summer associate at huge law firm. SUPER EXCITED. Can't wait to start doing substantial legal work and be wined and dined by the program coordinators. - Put modeling on hold. Yeah, I'm not quite sure how to tell my agent that I will be MIA... for 3 months... - Discovery of Scrabulous. Thanks to a law student friend of mine, I am now hooked onto Scrabulous on facebook. Not good. but oh so good at the same time. - Plus, there has been some additional emotional baggage/drama/mess. But I think I'm starting to mature emotionally.
But time to go back to studying. Hope to hear from all of you soon.
PS, even after all this time of hard work, I'm still trying to lose those damn flabs.
I ended up walking in two small shows during Fashion Week (off-tent), modeling R. Scott French's party (and getting a bigtime photographer's interest!- she asked for my number.. we should be talking soon.. she thinks I'm beauuuutiful), shooting something for Riddem Driven (lookbook, but may be turned into something more), and castings castings castings (which I didn't get the job for :( ).
But being conceited and such and self-absorbed and bla bla bla, I decided to contact my old YUAN crew, and see what was up with YUAN 2008. Now I've sworn that I will NOT help produce the show this year, and I'm sticking to it. But look what I found from LAST year's show--- like Holy Crap, am I amazing or what??!?!?!
Of course, I am on the bottom of totem pole for receiving congratulations. I mean, I have to thank Stone Forest Ensemble for their craaazy musical skills, the models for their hotness, the hair stylists for their awesome work, the makeup artists for their amazing skills, and of course all the production crew. Which includes me. Like duh.
Holy Crap, law school has made me into Napoleon Dynamite! Gosh! Idiot!
Nonetheless, I am elated that to have helped set an awesome precedent for the show, and glad to have contributed to its increasing prominence and ability to attract audiences. I'm very much looking forward to this year's show- from the front row and rubbing shoulders with bigtime designers and press.
Did I mention that I sat frontrow with Tyson Beckford at Reem Acra? And that he screamed, "Go black girl, go black girl, go!" at Chanel Iman everytime she walked by? And that somebody think I'm "beauuuutiful?"
Yay! Finally got footage of the show that I produced at PACHA. Didn't get any face time this turn around, but the designer was really happy with the way i presented it, so next time I'll jump in!!
Enough with the finals and school! I eat clam chowder for the clam, not the potatoes!

I hate having to be terse after your IE decides to restart in the middle of a long blog... ARGH.
